Seeking Art of a Carnivorous Nature
Are you as fascinated with the concept of consumption as we are? Do you have an interest in eating, food, shopping, fire, or other subjects which deal with the idea of consuming or being consumed? Perhaps you should submit your work to our E-Zine, Vociferous Union.
We are looking for:
That deals with the subject of consumption, eating, devouring and being devoured. This does not have to be in a literal sense. Works concerning fire as a destructive force are valid. Works concerning political consumption are also valid. We're trying to take a look at the concept from all angles, so if you have something that might suit do send it along!
TO SUBMIT: send something to email@example.com.
This is a small, non-corporate art project & online gallery (no ad revenue) but as we believe artists should be paid just like anyone else, we would be happy to place a paypal "donate" button next to your submission if printed so that people can give you money if they like your work. We'll also promote you with a photo, brief bio, and a link to your website/studio/myspace page.
The zine will be printed in an elegant flash format (posted on the web). Due to launch July/August. The zine will be printed quarterly and old issued will remain available to the public. We will try to respond to all entries, but please forgive us if we don't have the resources.
Thanks for reading!

Karate Kid Invasion: San Francisco
Would anyone be interested in participating in a large-scale live-action performance of the karate kid staged in the Japanese Tea Garden
in Golden Gate Park? I'm looking for about 20 or more Daniels, plus some Mr. Miyagis and supporting cast members.
The thought is that various pairs or groups of people (depending on the scene reinacted) will come in costume to the tea garden and reinact a scene of their choosing in various areas of the garden. All lines/actions should be memorized.
What is the purpose of this you may ask? And there is certainly no harm in asking.

Art Swap Update
To the people who submitted something to the art swap and never got anything back - your replacement art from our team of artists in waiting will be sent out this week! I'm sorry, but unfortunately some people are flakey and didn't send their art. I thought I had weeded out the flakes through my rigorous application standards but I guess not. Apologies abound and hopefully the art you'll be receiving will make up for it!

Photo Tag - Jan SENT
This week we sent out dear camera Jan out to travel the world. She is scheduled to reach the midwest in a few days. After that she'll be hitting other parts of the states, Canada, England, Finland, and Sweden before returning back to North America.
When you get the camera, please feel free to decorate her with your own signature, a sticker, some paint, or whatever you feel like so long as it doesn't obstruct the lens or viewing panel.
When you've taken your shot, please put the camera back in the box without winding it (so as to avoid many pictures of the lovely inside foam packaging) and put a label over the last one so as to keep using the same box (unless it gets beat up and needs replacing in which case please do!). Ship it to the next person, and feel free to make a post to this community if you like letting us know where she's at.
Any questions? Let me know!

PhotoTag (Jan) Update
I've sent an email out to everyone who is participating in Phototag - CameraName: Jan including a list of names & addresses so you can see where the camera is going and when it's getting to you.
If you didn't receive this email, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and remind me of your name so I can send you a copy of the list and make sure you're on it. If you're not and we missed adding you for some reason, I'll add you to camera Jill's list which should be set for the end of April.
A reminder of the rules: one photo per person only. I'd also hope that everyone could mail the camera within 2 weeks or less of receiving it to the next player.
We're working on a site at www.djdeathsquad.com which will include a map of the camera's progress so you can keep up to date on how things are going, as well as pictures of the camera in all its glorious beauty. It will also include info. on the worldwide art swap which we're planning for May, as well as other exclusive squad events. Please comment if you can when you receive the camera so we know how quickly things are moving along and when people can expect to have their go.
Kudos to all the participants,

White Elephant Art Swap is ON! Plus Phototag Update!
Hey everyone! I got itchy and decided to send out the addresses for the art swap a day early. But that gives you 11 days instead of 10 to mail your groovy artwork to your swapee. Swell!
In other news, LJ Photographer's Photo Tag met its first 24 players today, and so our first baby camera, Jan, is ready to be released into the wild. I'll be sending everyone a list of the camera's projected schedule (which currently is USA (east coast) to Canada to England to Finland to Sweden to USA (west coast). Jan's sister camera, Jill, is still awaiting 24 players of the finest photo caliber so if you're interested in playing, send a note full of promises to email@example.com.
Thank you to everyone who has chosen to participate in either or both projects. You've made my wildest dreams come true, you aesthetic hunks.
